Slicking it back

I wore my hair in this slicked back style yesterday and it lasted until the next day even though I roll around in my sleep. I was super happy with the style because it made my hair look thicker. To achieve this look I misted my freshly washed hair with a homemade liquid leave in conditioner then I applied Abyssinian oil to my hair and allowed it to air dry. Once my hair dried I applied Creme of Nature's Coconut Milk Curl Quenching Foaming Mousse followed by a homemade styling balm. I combed out my coils then I applied Eco Style Argan Oil styling gel to slick my hair back. The Eco Style gel contains Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein which forms a light film around the hair helping it to appear slightly thicker. From my understanding Hydrolyzed Wheat protein can also help to strengthen the hair helping to prevent breakage. Once my hair was slicked into my desired style I wrapped it with a headscarf until it dried then I was good to go.

When my hair was shorter I enjoyed embracing my coils but now that my hair is getting longer my coils have less definition when wet. To define my coils I would need to shingle my coils with a styling product and that's too much work for a style that will get ruined when I wash it. If I'm going to spend a significant amount of time styling my hair I would prefer to do mini twists because I'm able to wash them without ruining the style.
