Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra

Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) is a hereditary skin condition exasperated by exposure to the sun's UV rays. DPN is more likely to be found in people with more melanin in their skin so it may be caused by the interaction of their melanocytes and keratinocytes. The actor Morgan Freeman seems to have this skin condition which is characterised by dark bumps which range in size. I developed the condition in my mid 20's after years of going out in the sun without sunscreen.

At the moment my DPN bumps are small but medical professionals say the condition gets worse with age. Now that I'm 39 I've started protecting my skin from the sun to prevent my existing DPN bumps from getting bigger. I've been using Solait spf 50 Anti-Aging Sensitive Face Lotion with good results. This sunscreen works well on my sensitive skin but it leaves a white cast on my face making me look ashy.

I recently decided to add iron oxides to a sunscreen to protect my skin without the white cast. I blended brown and yellow iron oxides together with the sunscreen until I got something close to my shade. I ended up using 4% iron oxides with 96% sunscreen. I'm currently looking for a sunscreen that already contains iron oxides.
