Vitamin C

Vitamin C can be found in several fruits and vegetables including strawberries and kiwifruits. In skincare, Vitamin C functions as a powerful antioxidant helping to protect the skin from free radicals. In it's natural form (Ascorbic Acid) Vitamin C is highly unstable so a number of Vitamin C derivatives have been created. I have decided to incorporate Vitamin C into my skincare regimen to help to get rid of some of my hyper-pigmentation so I'm currently experimenting with different Vitamin C products.

The Ordinary has a Vitamin C guide which provides details of their various Vitamin C products. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F and Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution both have very low stinging with high potency so I purchased them both to see which one I like best. I tested one product on my right hand and the other product on my left hand to see if they would cause any irritation. Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution sits on top of my skin like mineral oil and it takes a while to absorb. Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F absorbs quite quickly without any greasiness. I'll post an update after I've used them a few more times.
