It's been 10 months and 18 days since I shaved off my hair and the above photo was taken today. I just finished braiding my hair with Cantu Leave in Conditioning Cream for Natural Hair followed by a homemade pomade. I love this leave in conditioner for braiding because it seals my cuticles and defines the coils at the end of my braids. I was bit heavy handed with the leave in conditioner so it has left some white residue but I expect my hair to absorb it overnight.
The above picture was taken on Thursday 25th February after I had taken out the top half of my last set of braids. I had a lot of shrinkage because I had used World of Curls Moisturizing Oil Sheen Spray to keep my braids moisturised. After removing the braids I pre-poo'd my hair overnight with a homemade leave in conditioner and coconut oil. On Friday I washed my hair with Xpel Hair Care Hemp Shampoo then I applied Shea Moisture's 10 in 1 Multi-Benefit Hair Masque. I allowed the steam from my bath to help the ingredients to penetrate into my strands. After rinsing out the Masque I used Childs Farm Conditioner as my detangling rinse-out conditioner. I used a microfibre towel to absorb the excess moisture then I applied Cantu Coil Calm Detangler and I followed that up with Organic Brazil nut Oil. Next I placed my hair in large flat twists to stretch it using Cantu Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream sealing in the moisture with my homemade Moisturising Balm. I allowed my hair to air dry overnight. I started braiding my hair on Sunday and I finished the rest today.
