Peppermint Tea Pre-Shampoo Treatment

According to this article, Peppermint Oil may help to promote hair growth. Apparently the menthol in Peppermint helps to stimulate blood flow to the scalp which encourages the hair to grow from the follicles. As I'm eager for my coils to start sprouting I decided to make myself a peppermint tea hair treatment using the following ingredients:
- 1 bag of Peppermint Tea
- 100 mils of boiled purified water
- 0.5 grams of Xanthan Gum
- 7 grams Glycerin

Method
  1. Place the Peppermint tea bag in a cup and pour the hot purified water over the tea bag.
  2. Cover the cup with a saucer to ensure that all of the steam stays in the cup then set the tea aside for two hours to give it time to cool.
  3. Add the Xanthan Gum and glycerin to a glass jar then stir until the Xanthan Gum is dispersed in the glycerin.
  4. Pour the cold Peppermint tea into the Xanthan Gum/Glycerin mixture ensuring that all of the liquid is squeezed from the tea bag.
  5. Mix thoroughly until the mixture thickens to form a gel.
I added a preservative and placed the mixture into a bottle but this is optional. When I don't want to use a preservative I pour my treatments into an ice cube tray and freeze for future use.

When I placed the mixture on my hair and scalp I felt a tingling sensation which let me know that the Peppermint was working on my scalp. Xanthan Gum is a surfactant so this treatment has a mild cleansing effect when it's rinsed off.
